How the ultrasonic flowmeter works
Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters detect internal conditions by exchanging ultrasonic signals between a pair of sensors installed on the exterior of the pipe. Specifically, they precisely calculate the difference in transmission time that occurs when a signal travels along the flow versus against it. This time difference, analyzed through digital signal processing technology, serves as a crucial basis for determining the velocity of the liquid flowing inside the pipe. Consequently, this system can accurately quantify changes in flow rate without direct contact.
